The Chinese Way How to Heal a Sprained Ankle

Have you been wondering what the best way to cure a sprained ankle would be? The issue here is how to heal it. Of course on the internet you'll find lots of advice about RICE and how to rest and ice your ankle for 48 hours, but there's little to be found on the rehabilitation aspect of the way to heal a sprained ankle. When I sprained my ankle in China three weeks ago, I was quite surprised with all the traditional techniques they employed, but more astonished that they also utilize RICE that is a pretty western and scientific approach about the best way best to cure a sprained ankle.
After the first break, ice, compression, and elevation period (I did not really compress it until later when I started to walk on it), they proposed instant massage and walking on it whenever possible. They insisted that I massage the area and try to move the joint as far as possible (starting with the toes as my injury was serious and that I could not move my ankle much). This prevents the joint from locking up and makes moving and exercising it later much simpler. I was given a"musk deer" beverage that was also utilized to stimulate blood flow. The feeling was a bit like tiger-balm if you have ever heard of it, so I'm sure you may find something comparable.
